Beastly by Alex Flynn: Usually I would never even pick up a book like this, too girly. But after getting tricked into seeing the movie, I had to read it. My friend let me borrow it, and I could not put it down! Beastly is a modern retelling of the classic tale Beauty and the Beast. Set in New York City, Kyle Kingsbury is all about the looks, no matter what's on the inside. He ignores ugly people in the world. And after he insults a witch, he is transformed into a beast, with claws, fangs, and too much hair. He has two years to find someone to love him for what he truly is. If he finds love, he can go back to the normal Kyle Kingsbury, but if he doesn't, he will forever remain a beast. A little boring to start out, but it quickly speeds up. 9/10
Truancy by Isamu Fuyuki: An interesting book which I Lifeline recomend. The setting is a totalitarian city where the population is controled from a young age using education. The main character, Tack, is an average student who is tired of school. But when his younger sister is killed he goes out to avenge her. this book is one that is hard to put down. my personal opinion is that it is a 8/10.  |
this is a manga style American web comic. it starts at E3 with the main characters unable to get in. the main characters are gamers who, after going to Japan, are stuck there. with almost no money. they meet ninjas, gamers, actresses, police. they even fight zombies and giant turtles with alchohol problems. the relationships of the main characters are complicated, accurate, and full of depth. though some people may disagree with me (you evil non-manga people) most of you will agree this site is at least an 8/10.
